Scholarships for community college students do exist. In fact, a significant number of students receive more than $800 million in grants each year to help them pay for their education! These grants come from a selection of sources, from corporations and foundations to non-profit organizations and even school alumni associations. If you want to understand how to pay for your community college education without incurring a huge amount of debt, this article is a helpful start.

The average community college award is $5,750, while the average university award is over $25,000. In addition, a community college student who receives a scholarship reduces their loans by approximately 3%, while a university student can reduce their loan burden by up to 14%. A community college scholarship can mean the difference between earning an associate degree or transferring to a four-year university with no debt.

Here’s a quick look at a few scholarships to help you get started!
